FINRA’s New Member Firm Common Exam Exceptions Summary serves as an important guide for new member firms in preparing for their initial examination. Pursuant to SEA Rule 15b2-2, new FINRA member firms undergo an initial examination within six to twelve months post approval. The purpose of this examination is to assess whether the firm is conducting its business operations in compliance with federal securities rules and regulations that are relevant to their business.
