BD- California Broker-Dealer Registration Requirements Guide
The CA Broker-Dealer Registration Requirements Guide highlights the steps necessary to register as a broker-dealer in the State of California under Section 17 CFR 249.501 of the Corporations Code (Section 25211). The Guide details the steps required for electronic filing utilizing FINRA's CRD system or manually filing. If applying without the use of the FINRA CRD system the completion and submission of SEC Form BD would be required. Additionally, a Customer Authorization of Disclosure of Financial Records (Form QA 500.261) should be completed and maintained as part of a firm’s books and records. If a firm is filing as a Sole Proprietor completion of the Statement of Citizenship, Alienage, and Immigration Status (Form 250.61) would be required. Members also downloaded Broker-Dealer Minimum Net Capital Certification or California Index of Fees, Fines and Penalties (Form 510).
